MUMBO JUMBO – April 2012

SPRING GREETINGS!

It’s the day after Easter and a beautiful breezy day here in Key West.  I begin a week long engagement at The Smokin’ Tuna Saloon this evening but otherwise am in final planning stages with my assistant, Terry Lederer, for the summer tour.  After spending much of the winter in Key West performing at The Tuna, I recently  ventured out on the road for a quick March road trip up the east coast to New England and back!  Fourteen shows in eighteen days and about 5500 miles.

I took my friend/tennis pro, Tomas Gattermayer along, who is from the Czech Republic and in his fourteen years here has not seen very much of the east coast; so between playing gigs we squeezed in some quality tourist time along the way in Washington, DC, New York City and Boston, and even woke up to a little winter wonderland on the coast of New Hampshire.  As NBC’s Tim Russert was fond of saying, “What a country!”

BACK TO NEW ENGLAND WITH PETER MAYER!

APRIL 22nd, THE SANDBAR GRILL, Taunton, Mass with friends!

APRIL 23rd, LAKES REGION CASINO, Belmont, NH, acoustic show!

Pete and I don’t get as much time to get out and perform together as we would like, as we both have crazy schedules, and when we get a few mutual days off we try to make the best of it!  So on Sunday, April 22, we will be rendezvousing in Massachusetts to perform with some friends at The Sandbar Grill in Taunton, Massachusetts.   Pete has performed here before as have most of the Coral Reefers and it’s a great intimate 220 seat venue.  We will be joined by some special guests, John Correia and Pete Hebert of the Baha Brothers and singer/songwriter Jon Frattasio and guitarist extraordinare, Bobby Doolittle!   Showtime is at 7:00PM and there are still tickets available by calling the Sandbar at 508-824-2200.

The following night, Monday April 23, Pete and I head up to the Lakes Region Casino in Belmont, New Hampshire, for an acoustic show. The Lakes Region Casino is only about twenty minutes north of Concord and just up Route 106 from The New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  There are only about 35 tickets left for this show so call 603-267-7778 to inquire about tickets!
