TRYING TO REASON WITH HURRICANE SEASON in the Northeast and Parrotheads flock to Key West to avoid Sandy!

It’s Fantasy Fest weekend here in the Keys and after being gone for the better part of six months and 35,000 road miles it’s good to be home. Hurricane Sandy slid by far to the east several days ago bringing a little rain and blustery winds to Key West. The only storm precautions I saw were a few people cleaning the coconuts out of their palm trees!

It’s now 83 degrees here at Snapper’s in Key Largo, with a cloudless blue sky but looks like Sandy may wreak havoc on our friends from Maryland to Maine with hurricane force winds and torrential rain in the next few days. Undoubtedly there will also be tons of leafy trees blown down and the accompanying power outages.

We have a lot of friends from that area heading to Key West this week for the annual Parrotheads in Paradise festival and I hope none of your flights are affected!

I just checked the Key West forecast for the week, and after a cool front passes through on Monday, the forecast is for sunshine in the mid-seventies to low eighties with nearly zero chance of rain!

The Smokin’ Tuna Saloon will be packed to the gills with three and four musical acts each day from Monday, October 29, through Sunday, November 4, so check the “Tuna” website for details. I know we have Jim Morris, John Frinzi, Amy Lee, Howard Livingston, Jimmy and The Parrots, Thom Shepard, Homemade Wine, Southern Drawl Band and Wes Loper on the schedule and I’ll be joined by Dave Edmisten and Gabriel Donohue Monday, Tuesday and Saturday nights at 10:00pm.

One of the highlights of the week for me will be the last two shows of the ten city East Coast tour I started with Peter and Brendan Mayer in New Hampshire on September 21st. The 9:00PM show is sold out but a few tickets remain for the 6:00 PM show! Tickets are available online by clicking here!
